| Diagnostics are used as an extension of the patient's history and physical examination. Diagnostic studies we specialize in include radiography (X-Ray), fluoroscopy, diagnostic ultrasound, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), electrodiagnostic studies (EMG and NCS), and body mass analysis. We also perform blood test with analysis completed by Quest Diagnostics (one of the largest certified laboratories in the country).
X-rays and fluoroscopy are used sparingly in our practice due to the radiation associated with these procedures. Diagnostic ultrasound is safe and inexpensive and due to its versatility it is utilized the most. MRI is an amazing technological tool which has used more frequently in our current healthcare system. It is an excellent tool for confirming and localizing disease. All imaging studies performed at our offices are supervised and reviewed by Dr. Aldric J. Shim, M.D., a board certified radiologist fellowship trained in musculoskeletal imaging.
